Vasto Mundo
Photography · 2013
Vasto Mundo investigates the urban transformations produced by major international events and the speed with which their architectures can lose function and meaning.
Departing from sports structures, public spaces, and installations conceived for moments of intense visibility, the series follows what remains after the spectacle ends.
Monumental when inaugurated, these constructions later appear empty, degraded, or absorbed into other uses.
The project observes obsolescence as part of the very logic that produces these landscapes and brings the idea of progress close to its anticipated ruin.
A solo exhibition of the project was presented at SIM Galeria, in Curitiba, in 2014.
