Safira
Digital video · 2019
Safira departs from a sense of collapse to build a narrative situated between science fiction, cosmic landscape, and political allegory.
Archival images of space are digitally colorized and combined with a human figure and a falcon, composing a world that comes after a catastrophe whose origin is never entirely revealed.
The original soundtrack functions as a voice that crosses this scenario and announces new ruptures.
Between intimacy and devastation, imprisonment and freedom, the film shifts the crisis of the present into an indeterminate temporality, observed as if it belonged to another planet.
Safira gave its title to the solo exhibition presented at Galeria Zielinsky, in Barcelona, in 2020.
