Red Sand

Red Sand documents the Maunsell Forts, military platforms built at sea off the southeast coast of England during World War II.
Conceived as defense structures and decommissioned only a few years after the conflict, the towers remain isolated and subjected to the corrosion of salt, wind, and time.
In the photographs, their appearance brings together historical document and science-fiction setting: technologies conceived to guarantee security become strange forms, without a defined function, suspended in the landscape.
The work investigates this transformation of infrastructure into ruin and observes how the remains of war continue to produce images of futures that aged before they could disappear.
