Antes do Azul
Digital video, 14 min · 2019
In Antes do Azul, a nighttime party gradually turns into ritual.
Under a blue atmosphere, bodies, mirrors, crystals, and choreographed movements build a space in which identity, desire, and transformation remain unstable.
The narrative leads the viewer from a recognizable environment to a situation in which the boundaries between human, image, and fiction begin to dissolve.
The film departs from a sense of contemporary dystopia to imagine another possible time, one that comes after the collapse of the categories that organize the present.
Commissioned by Instituto Ling, in Porto Alegre, the work was part of festival selections such as Outfest Los Angeles and the Dumbo Film Festival.
